RESIDENTS in Beijing will soon be able to enjoy a priority health service from the country's best doctors without leaving home.
The first 100,000 personal health cards of the "Golden Health Medical Network Project"will be presented in Beijing as a special gift to mark the 50th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
The card will be available across the country after the trial distribution in Beijing,said sources with the Golden Health Medical Network Corp which is in charge of establishing and operating the network under the Ministry of Health.
Jointly sponsored by the Agriculture Bank of China and the Golden Health Medical Network Corp,the health card is suitable for both withdrawing and depositing cash in the bank and making payments in designated shops.
The card,the same size as a name card,will record detailed health data of the cardholder and accurately guide quick diagnosis and treatment of health problems.
Using the card,people can easily receive medical information about their illness,especially rare and complicated illnesses.
Cardholders also enjoy a preferential price in designated travel agencies,hotels,restaurants and airports,as well as more than 150 drugstores,10 hospitals,20 beauty parlours,photo studios and gymnasiums which the "Golden Health Medical Network"has covered.
Meanwhile,the network gives people the convenience of being able to surf the Internet and receive on-line knowledge about illness and treatment.
As the unique national satellite medical service network that was opened by the Ministry of Health in 1997,"Golden Health"project has helped several thousand patients with rare diseases be treated by famous doctors in Beijing without leaving their homes.
It has also carried out professional training and international exchange programmes in the medical field,and more than 50,000 medical professionals nationwide have benefited from it., 百拇医药
