Abstract
AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of magnetic resonance diffusion weighted imaging (MR-DWI) in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma.
METHODS: MR-DWI was performed with the different b values in 88 patients with hepatic lesions, including hepatocellular carcinoma (n = 28), hepatic metastatic tumor (n = 15), hepatic cavemous hemangioma (n = 33), and hepatic cyst (n = 12). The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) map was constructed by DWI. The ADC values of these lesions were measured, and then statistical analysis was performed.
RESULTS: ADC with high b values was lower and more accurate than that with low b values. Therefore, the ADC with b value of 500 s/mm2 was used as the average values. The ADC value of hepatic cyst (3.24 ± 0.68) was significantly higher than that of hepatic cavernous hemangioma (2 ......
