    Abstract: Everything in the world has a name and the name tells what it is. There is no exception

    with Chinese formulas. When every medical practitioner of different Dynasties invented a formula,they would inevitably give it a name. But because of different views of the same object, or

    perception from different angles, even the same object has different names. This essay will

    provide some guidelines for standardizing the names of Chinese formulas and improving Chinese

    formulas scientifically by finding out their naming rules and setting new principles.
