Abstract
AIMS To study the plain film diagnosis for childhood intussusception.
METHODS Plain films of 32 children with intussusception confirmed by operation or enema, and of 32 children without intussusception as controls, were reviewed. The six plain film manifestations of the two groups(reduced amount of gas in the jejunum, dilation of the ileum, reduced amount of faeces in the colon, indiscernible caecum, lateralization of the ileum and abdominal mass) were analysed respectively, and the results were compared using χ2 test. ......
