    Studies on changes of T cell subpopulations and serum soluble IL_2 receptor in patients with hepatitis B

    Abstract

    AIM To investigate the changes of T cell subpopulations and the level of serum soluble IL_2 receptor (sIL_2R) in patients with acute and chronic hepatitis B, to find out its course and prognosis.

    METHODS By using an APAAP immune_bridge assay and a double_anti bodies ELISA, the changes of T cell subpopulations and the level of sIL_2R were determined in 30 normal controls and 175 patients with hepatitis B.

    RESULTS The level of CD₃,CD₄ and the ratio of CD₄ to CD₈ were significantly lower and the level of CD₈ was markedly higher in all patient groups. The level of sIL_2R was incresed in patients with hepatitis B and significantly higher (P<0.01) in chronic fulminant hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, acute hepatitis B and chronic active hepatitis than that in normal controls, and it was related to the HBV reproduction. ......
