Significance of immunohistoch-emically demonstrated micromet-astases to lymph nodes in gastric carcinomas

Abstract
AIM The clinicopathologic significance of micrometastasis to lymph nodes in patients with gastric carcinomas was studied by immunohis tochemical methods.
METHODS The authors studied 1251 lymph nodes in 42 patients with gastric carcinomas. Histologic sections of the primary tumor and regional lymph nodes in each case were stained with hematoxylin and eosin (HE) and immunostained with antibody against cytokeratin 19 (CK19) or carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), respectively. ......
