    Hemodynamic influence of selective endothelin receptor antagonists on portal hypertensive rats

    Abstract

    AIM To investigate the hemodynamic influence of selective endothelin receptor (ETR) antagonists on portal hypertensive (PHT) rats.

    METHODS PHT rats were induced by CCl4 and received saline (control), BQ123 (the endothelin receptor A antagonist, 5 or 10nmol·kg-1·min-1), BQ788 (the endothelin receptor B antagonist, 10nmol·kg-1·min-1), BQ123 + BQ788 (both 10nmol·kg-1·min-1) respectively for 1h. During the administration, heart rate (HR),arterial pressure (MAP) and portal pressure (PP) were monitored, and the hemodynamic study was performed using the radioactive microsphere method after 1 hour administration. ......
