AbstractAIM: To investigate genetically diagnostic method of lymph nodemicrometastasis in patients with esophageal cancer and to evaluate itsprognostic significance
METHODS:Using assays of reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR),three hundred and sixty-six regional lymph nodes obtained from sixty-threepatients with squamous cell cancer of the esophagus without invasionconfirmed by routine histopathologic analysis (pN0) were studied to further detect mRNA for Mucin1 (myc1) gene and determinemicrometastasis. All the patients were followed up. Survival differencewas compared by x2 test. Logistic regressive analysis wasperformed to determined independent prognostic factors. ......
