    【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the role of ICAM-1in rabbits with experimental nephritis and protecˉtive effects of mycophenolate mofetil.Methods By injecting BSA to induce rabbits active serological nephritis.We inˉvestigated ICAM-1expression in renal tissue of rabbits models and the mechanism of MMF in nephritis.Results MMF decreased expression ratio of ICAM-1positive cells in experimental rabbits models obviously.It may ease the thickening of glomerular bases membrane(GBM)and infiltration of inflammatory cells，meanwhile prevented the formaˉtion of microthrombus in the capillary of kidney tissue.Conclusion MMF inhibited chemotaxis，infiltration，activation and proliferation of immune cells and reduced excretion of self-antibody by cutting down the expression of ICAM-1and the level of IL-6.Thereby MMF eased glomerular inflammation reaction and improved renal function.MMF may play an important significance in prevention and treatment of renal disease. ......
