    【Abstract】 Objective To study the effect of tetramethipyazine on c-fos gene expression in spinal neurons after SCI.Methods 60rats were divided randomly into two groups，one group(SAL)included30rats was served as control，another group(TMP)had30rats.The injury at the level T8spinal segment of the rats in two group were made by dropping a weight of10g from a high2.5cm after a total laminectomy from T8segments.Rats in group TMP were given tetramethipyazine(TMP)while those in group SAL had the same volume of nomal saline.At30min，1，2，4，6hours following surgery，6rats in each group were sacrificed and the injured segments were resected for examination.Expression of c-fos gene in the rat spinal cord at30min，1，2，4，6hour after injurywere measured by RT-PCR.Reˉsults The level c-fos mRNA increased markedly in SAL group.The peak value of c-fos mRNA happened at2hours after SCI and c-fos mRNA levels in TMP group reduced evidently.Conclusion Tetramethipyazine could inˉhibit the expression of c-fos exression after spinal cord injury ......
