    Abstract:AIM To learn the effect of psoriatic peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC)on the proliferation of au-tologous epidermal keratinocytes.METHODS Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated from3patients with psoriasis vulgaris.After irradiating in Cobalt gamma ray of30Gy，the cells were cocultured with psoriatic epidermal ker-atinocytes that were obtained from the same patient.The changes of keratinocyte proliferation were detected by3 H-TdR incorporation assay.RESULTS Keratinocytes involved and uninvolved in Psoriatic underwent a significant prolifera-tion response to autologous peripheral blood mononuclear cells in the mixed cultures.CONCLUSION Interaction of keratinocytes with infiltrated mononuclear cells in epidermis may induce the hyperproliferation of the keratinocytes and thus play an important role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.
