Abstract
AIM: To explore thedistribution of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) gene Asp299Gly, and TLR2 geneArg753Glu and Arg677Trp polymorphisms in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)in Chinese Han patients of Hubei province.
METHODS: Thepolymorphisms of TLR4 gene Asp299Gly, and TLR2 gene Arg753Glu andArg677Trp were genotyped in 120 patients with IBD and 110 healthy controlsby polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment lengthpoly-morphism. The association between the polymorphism and IBD as well asits clinical phenotype was analyzed.
RESULTS: Themutant genotypes of the TLR4 gene Asp299Gly, TLR2 gene Arg753Glu andArg677Trp were not found in both the IBD patients and healthy controls.
CONCLUSION: TLR4gene Asp299Gly and TLR2 gene Arg753Glu, Arg677Trp polymorphisms are notassociated with IBD in Chinese Han patients of Hubei province ......
