     Protective effects of Qidantongmai tablet on myocardial mitochondrion injury in rats

    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the protective effects of Qidantongmai tablet (QDTMT) on the injury of myocardial mitochondrion induced by isoproterenol. METHODS: Rats were fed with QDTMT(2 g·kg-1)for two weeks and acute myocardial ischemia was induced by subcutaneous injection of isoproterenol (ISP. 5 mg·kg-1) into rats. The content of MDA and the activity of SOD, GSHPX and SDH in myocardial mitochondrion were measured. RESULTS: In the model group, the content of MDA increased and the activity of SOD decreased significantly. Compared with those in the model group, the MDA content of mitochondrion reduced in the QDTMT group and the activity of SOD, GSHPX and SDH increased significantly [( 8.9±0.6 0) vs (5.5±0.6) μmol· g-1, (673.2±25.2 ) vs (536.2±20.3) kNU· g-1, (55.3±6.0) vs (40.7±7.1) kU·g-1, (0.07±0.01) vs (0.05±0.01) kat·g-1 , P<0.01). CONCLUSION: QDTMT can alleviate the injury caused by oxygen free radicals to myocardial mitochondrion by decreasing the content of MDA and increasing the activity of SOD, GSHPX and SDH in myocardial mitochondrion. ......
