Beijing Tongren Hospital sets up otorhinolaryngolo
In order to accommodate the medical development and to meet the demand of department construction for effectively integrate medical resources and satisfy the patients of various levels for medical care, the center of otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery was established in Beijing Tongren Hospital recently.
Professor Han Demin, director of the Center, said that in recent years there was an increase of the number of patients coming in with complaints of reduced auditory function, discomforts in the throat and nose in consequence of urban contamination, noise, accelerated working tempo, unhealthy life style etc. Additionally, due to limitation in therapeutic tools in the past, patients requiring massive surgical traumatic procedures in the olden times, can now be treated with minimal or non-traumatic procedures giving satisfactory outcome as a result of the progress of advanced technology; the number of cases accepting surgical treatment is also increasing year by year.
