Detection of HBsAg/Annexin V by doubleª²label immunofluorescence assays and study on mechanism of HBV intrauterine transmission

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To find out the possible form Hepatitis B Virus takes in the infection of trophblasts and to study the role of HBsAg/Annexin V in the HBV intrauterine transmission. METHODS: Thirtyª²nine fullª²term placentae of HBsAg seroª²positive pregnant women were collected, in which 23 were detected as HBsAg positive by SABC immunohistochemistry staining. Seven out of the 23 were selected randomly for the detection of HBsAg/Annexin V. The immunofluorenscence assay and confocal laser scanning microscope were conducted. RESULTS: HBsAg/Annexin V coª²existed in the cytoplasm of trophoblasts in the fullª²term placentae of HBsAg seroª²positive pregnant women. CONCLUSION: It is suggested that Annexin V, as a receptor, carries HBV into the trophoblasts, resulting in the trophoblast infection. ......
