【Abstract】 AIM: To study the proper mass concentration of azone used as the permeator of ginseng minoxidil preparation. METHODS: Using a device of transdermal diffusion and using the mouse skin in vitro as barrier and 9 mg/L NaCL as accepted medium, we studied the effects of azone with different concentrations on transdermal absorption. RPHPLC method was adopted to measure the amount of transdermal absorption of ginsengminoxidil preparation. RESULTS: The amount of transdermal absorption of ginsenoside Rg1 within 24 h was (0.26±0.02), (3.47±0.16), (3.98±0.23), (4.54±0.73), (2.36±0.11) and (1.65±0.08) μg/mL in 0, 10, 30, 50, 70 and 90 mL/L azone groups, respectively. The amount of transdermal absorption of minoxidil within 24 h was (8.87±0.18), (11.21±0.20), (12.73±0.36), (11.72±0.36), (7.22±1.29) and (4.65±0.26) μg/mL in 0, 10, 30, 50, 70 and 90 mL/L azone groups, respectively. CONCLUSION: 30 mL/L is the optimal concentration for azone used as a transdermal enhancer in percutaneous absorption of ginseng and minoxidil through mice skin in vitro. ......
