    Changes in softtissue profile after orthodontic treatment with four premolars extraction in bimaxillary protrusion in adolescents

    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the changes in softtissue profile after orthodontic treatment with four premolars extracted in bimaxillary protrusion in adolescents. METHODS: In 15 adolescents with bimaxillary protrusion, 10 soft tissue controls were compaired before and after orthodontic treatment to evaluate the changes in soft tissue profile with paired ttest. RESULTS: Five angular measurements changed statistically. FHN′Pg′, N′SnPg′ and LsSnSN respectively decreased by 2.6°, 3.1° and 3.4°, CmSnLs and LiSiSN respectively increased by 6.0° and 3.1°; in 5 linear measurements 3 changed statistically. SnA decreased by 1.4 mm, U1Ls increased by 1.6 mm, LiL1 increased by 1.5 mm; there were no changes in NN′ and SiB. CONCLUSION: There are different changes in the softtissues according to the various positions, softtissue profiles are improved significantly after orthodontic treatment with four premolars extraction . ......
