Gene expression of ILª²6 mRNA in healing process of osteoporotic fracture in rats

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To assess the changes of gene expression of interleukinª²6 in the healing process of the normal and osteoporotic fractures in ovariectomic female SD rats. METHODS: The changes of gene expression of interleukinª²6 in the healing process of osteoporotic fractures were detected by dot blot hybridization, using ovariectomized female SD rats as model of type I osteoporosis and osteoporotic fracture. RESULTS: The gene expression of ILª²6 mRNA was found in the healing process of normal and osteoporotic fractures and the peak expression(15.6)in the osteoporotic fractures was at the 13th day after fracture, which was significantly higher than that of the normal(10.6). CONCLUSION: The higher expression of ILª²6 mRNA is related to the pathophysiologic changes in the healing process of osteoporotic fractures. ......
