    Effects of rhEPO on autologous blood donation

    【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the effects of rhEPO in mobilizing red blood cells during autologous blood donation in healthy blood donors. METHODS: rhEPO was hypodermically injected into volunteers，150 U·kg-1 twice a week. After 600ml whole blood was donated, the following parameters were tested: Hb, Hct, Ret, PLT and blood pressure. RESULTS: The proportion of Ret in the test group was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0001). The Hb contents and Hct in both test group and control group reduced, but the declined extent of test group was less than that of control group. The difference of two group was very significant (P<001). CONCLUSION: Application of rhEPO can mobilize young red blood cells into blood, thus reducing the anemia after autologous blood donation. ......
