Investigation of bactericidal activity of Amikacin in vitro to ESBLsª²producing E. coli infections

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To understand the bactericidal action of clinical routine dosage of Amikacin on the ESBLsª²producing E. coli. METHODS: The experiment was performed in vitro by timeª²killing curve and the concentration of Amikacin was set up according to the average bloodª²drugª²concentration of Amikacin (administrated intravenously in a concentration of 400 mg/L) at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 h, respectively in vivo. RESULTS: The amount of bacteria decreased to lower than 0.1% within the setª²point in groups of 2, 4 and 6 h but did not in groups of 8 and 12 h. CONCLUSION: The clinical routine dosage of Amikacin has a satisfied bactericidal action on the ESBLsª²producing E. coli, especially within 4 h after the administration. ......
