Antipyretic analgesic actions of dexketoprofen octylglucamine salt

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To study the antipyretic and analgesic actions of dexketoprofen octylglucamine salt. METHODS: Hot plate and acetic acid writhing analgesic laboratory model in mice were used to test the analgesic effects. The rising temperature caused by carrageenin in rats and that caused by typhoidª²paratyphoid vaccine in rabbits were examined to test the antipyretic effects. RESULTS: Dexketoprofen octlyglucamine salt (DKOS) (10, 20, 40 mg/kg) raised the pain threshold in mice and DKOS (2.5, 5.0, 10.0 mg/kg) inhibited the writhing reaction caused by acetic acid in mice and prolonged the latency of analgesia. DKOS (5, 10, 20 mg/kg) significantly inhibited the fever induced by carrageenin in rats and DKOS (2.5, 5.0, 10.0 mg/kg) significantly inhibited the fever induced by typhoidª²paratyphoid vaccine in rabbits. CONCLUSION: Dexketoprofen octylglucamine salt has some good antipyretic and analgesic effects. ......
