    【Abstract】 AIM: To determine the effects of wtp53 gene on VEGF expression in human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549. METHODS: Plasmids pcDNA3.1wtp53 and pcDNA3.1neo were transfected into A549 cells by cationic lipofectin technique. The expression of VEGF was analyzed by semiquantitative reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction (sqRTPCR) and ELISA technique. The VEGF positive cells percentage and semiquantitative classification were obtained by immunohistochemical staining after tumor formation in nude mice. RESULTS: Both VEGF mRNA and VEGF protein expression were much lower in pcDNA3.1wtp53 transfection group than those in pcDNA3.1neo transfection and control groups. CONCLUSION: The overexpression of wtp53 gene inhibits the expression of VEGF. ......
