Relationship between recurrent spontaneous abortion and Ureaplasma urealyticum, Chlamydia trachomatis and Toxoplasma gondii infection

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To probe into the relationship between recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) and Ureaplasma urealyticum (Uu), Chlamydia trachomatis (Ct) and Toxoplasma gondii (Tox). METHODS: The technique of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was applied to detect Uu and Ct in cervical secretion and enzyme linked immonosorbent assay (ELISA) was applied to detect Tox IgM in the serum of 214 spontaneous abortions and controls who had volunteered artificial abortion. RESULTS: The positive rate of Uu, Ct and Tox infection was 26.6%, 22.9% and 10.8% respectively, and the positive rate of Uu and Ct coinfection was 10.3% in the 214 spontaneous abortions, and that of the control group was 5.6% ......
