Pathological observation of atherosclerosis treated and prevented with Anxing Granule

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To observe the influence of atherosclerotic pathological changes in atherosclerotic rabbits with Anxing Granule. METHODS: Thirtyª²two male rabbits were randomly divided into 4 groups (n=8): Control group (A), Model group (B), Zibituo tablet group (C) and Anxing granule group (D) and fed respectively with common feed, high fat diet, high fat diet with Zibituo tablet and high fat diet with Anxing granule for 10 weeks. All the rabbits were then killed and their aortas were observed by naked eyes and light microscope. RESULTS: By naked eyes, the pathological changes of D group were less serious than those of B group and C group. By light microscope, the pathological changes of B group were the most serious in the 4 groups. The pathological changes of D group were the lightest in the 4 groups and 1/4 animals of D group had no any pathological changes. CONCLUSION: Anxing Granule has some therapeutic and preventive effects on atherogenesis in rabbits with hyperlipoidemia. ......
