Expression of HSP in the mouse brain after shortterm learning and memoryYANG Fen, WAN Qi

【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the association of heat shock proteins (HSP70 and HSP27) with shortterm learning and memory. METHODS: Thirty mice were randomly divided into 3 groups: Trained group(TG), swimming control group (SC) and blank control group(BC). After shortterm training, the mice were killed and the brains were prepared for tissue section. An immunohistochemical method was used in detecting HSP70 and HSP27 expression. RESULTS: A significant increase in HSP70 levels was observed in hippocampus, cerebral cortex and nucleus amygdala in shortterm trained group, a little expression in SC group and hardly no expression in BC group. But no HSP27 expression was found in all the 3 groups. CONCLUSION: HSP70 may be a critical molecule involved in shortterm learning and memory.
