     Cytokine alteration of cerebral cortices in murine model of Parkinsons disease

    【Abstract】 AIM: To explore the effects of 1methyl4henyltetrahydropyridine (MPTP) on cerebral cortical cytokines. METHODS: Twentyeight male C57BL/6J mice were treated with 25 mg/kg MPTP i.p. for five consecutive days. The control group (10 mice) were treated with saline. The mice were decapitated on day 1 (10 mice), day 3 (8 mice) and day 14 (10 mice) after the last MPTP injection. IL1β and IL6 levels in supernatant of homogenates of cerebral cortices were measured by the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RESULTS: MPTP injection affected cerebral cortical IL1β levels (P<0.001) and compared with those in control group, IL1β levels decreased dramatically at day 3 after treatment (P<0.01). MPTP injection had no effect on cerebral cortical IL6 levels. CONCLUSION: MPTP induces IL1β variations in cerebral cortices. ......
