【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the influence of bone contact rate (BCR) on the values of natural frequency of dental implants by 3dimensional finite element analysis. METHODS: Using the commercial code of SolidWorks, 3D models of cylindrical dental implant and mandibular bone segment were developed. After this 3D implantbone complex was meshed by ABAQUS software, the effects of BCR on the natural frequencies of the implant were computed. RESULTS: The natural frequency of implant increased from 23 960 Hz (BCR=0) to 25 886 Hz (BCR=100%) as the BCR increased. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that BCR plays a role in influencing the values of natural frequency of dental implants, but it is not the main influencing factor. ......
