【Abstract】 AIM: To explore the influences of arginine vasopressin (AVP) and its receptors on inducible nitric oxide synthasenitric oxide (iNOSNO) system activity in cardiac fibroblasts (CFs). METHODS: After CFs were isolated and cultured, nitric acid reductase method, spectrophotometry and RTPCR were used to detect the changes of iNOSNO system activity induced by AVP and its receptors. RESULTS: AVP significantly enhanced CFs iNOSNO system activity. V1 receptor antagonist inhibited iNOSNO system activity in a concentrationdependent manner and 1×10-7 mol/L V1 receptor antagonist decreased iNOSNO system activity to the control level. V1 receptor antagonist and V1+V2 receptor antagonist had the same effects on iNOSNO system activity. CONCLUSION: V1 receptor antagonist mediated iNOSNO system activity increases in AVPinduced CFs. V1 receptor antagonist may be a new target in the prevention and reversion of cardiac remodeling. ......
