【Abstract】 AIM: To study the effect of captopril on gastro

intestinal perfusion in hemorrhagic shocked rabbits. METHODS: Thirty rabbits were divided into 3 groups at random: normal control, shock group and therapeutic group. The shocked rabbits were treated with captopril 2.5 mg/kg at the beginning of the treatment. The animals blood pressure was reduced to 5.3 kPa and maintained for 60 min. The rabbits were resuscitated at the beginning of treatment by reinfusing all of the shed blood. The values of sigmoid flexure pH (pHi) and PiaCO2 were calculated by using HendersonHasselbalch equation at S0, S1, 1 h reperfusion (REP1) and 2 h reperfusion (REP2). Lac, SvO2 and PCO2 of mesentery vein were determined at the same time. RESULTS: Although the rabbits in shock group were resuscitated completely compared with the normal control group, the flexure pH (6.84±0.14), SvO2 (44±7)% and PCO2 (23.5±3.9) mmHg of mesentery vein were much lower and Lac (3.62±0.32) mmol/L of mesentery vein were much higher(P<0.01). But in the therapeutic group, Captopril dramatically improved the flexure pH (7.13 ±0.11) and SvO2 (66±6)% and PCO2(29.7±3.5) mmHg of mesentery vein and decreased the Lac (2.54±0.47) mmol/L of mesentery vein. There was significant difference compared with those in shocked rabbits(P<0.01).CONCLUSION: Captopril can notably improve the gastrointestinal blood perfusion in hemorrhagic shocked rabbits. ......
