    Abstract

    AIM: To explore the mechanism of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in the promotion of human cholangiocarcinoma cell invasion.

    METHODS: Invasion assay and cell proliferation assay were performed in human cholangiocarcinoma cell line HuCCT1 treated with different concentrations of EGF. Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot were used to detect the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), urokinase type plasminogen activator (uPA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI-1) in HuCCT1 cells.
