     Investigation on personality characteristics of nursing students in different grades

    【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the personality traits of nursing students for the screening of nurses and jobspecific training. METHODS: Thirtyfive nursing students in grade 2 and 33 in clinical practice were assessed with 16 Personality Factors Questionnaire(16PF). RESULTS: The personality qualities of nursing students were of different characteristics in the two groups. The nursing students of grade 2 were better in team spirit, enthusiasm and adaptability, while those in clinical practice were more dutiful, independent and initiative, and their abilities of handling emergencies were also enhanced. CONCLUSION: The assessment with Cattells 16PF is good for the screening of nurses in a medical university. ......
