    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the expression and clinical significance of PTI1 in prostate cancer tissues. METHODS: PTI1 was examined in 21 cases of prostate cancer tissues, 12 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and 9 cases of normal prostate tissues by reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain raction (RTPCR). RESULTS: Specific bands of PTI1 were found in RTPCR products of 15 cases of prostate cancer tissues, but not in BPH and normal prostate tissues. CONCLUSION: Detection of PTI1 by RTPCR can be used in diagnosing prostate cancer. ......
