Effect of QDTMT on expression of HSP70 in hippocampus of rats with focal cerebral ischemia

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To study the effect of Qidantongmai Tablet (QDTMT) on rats with focal hippocampal infarction. METHODS: Seventyª²two male SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups (n=12): control, shamª²operated, ischemia, QDTMT of high dosage (QDTMTH), QDTMT of moderate dosage (QDTMTM) and QDTMT of low dosage (QDTMTL). The rat models were produced by photochemical methods and the expression of HSP70 was measured by immunohistochemistry after the pathological analysis. RESULTS: The pathological changes decreased in rats treated by QDTMT compared with those in control group. HSP70 positive cells in QDTMTª²treated groups were more than those in control group: ischemia group (23¡À3), QDTMTH (89¡À8), QDTMTM (78¡À6), QDTMTL(46¡À6) (P<0.01). CONCLUSION: The neuroprotective effect of QDTMT may be related with its upª²regulation of HSP70 in the rat brain after focal cerebral ischemia. ......
