Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of peroxiredoxin1(Prx1)overexpression on resistance of human tumor cells to hydrogen peroxide.Methods pcDNA.Prx1plasmid was constructed and stably transfected into human PC3prostate cancer cells.Western blot analysis was used to monitor expression of peroxiredoxin1in the stable transfectants.MTT assay was used to observe survival rate of the stable transfectants.Results Compared with pcDNA3vector，there was significant in-crease of peroxiredoxin1expression in the PC3cells stably transfected with pcDNA3.Prx1monitored by Western blot analysis.When treated with0.25，0.5，1and2mmol·L-1 of hydrogen peroxide，the PC3cells stably transfected with pcDNA3.Prx1increased suvival span.Conclusion Overexpression of Prx1obviously increases resistance of human PC3prostate cancer cells to hydrogen peroxide.
