Meglumine adenosine cyclophosphate in prevention of arrhythmia in onª²pump beatingª²heart intracardiac procedures

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To explore whether a bolus of Meglumine adenosine cyclophosphate infused by oxygenator before the starting of cardiopulmonary bypass (CBP) can lower the incidence of arrhythmia in onª²pump beatingª²heart intracardiac procedures. METHODS: Twentyª²four patients (ASA status ¢ó) scheduled for heart valve replacement were randomly divided into two groups: Meglumine adenosine cyclophosphate group (group H, n=12) and control group (group C, n=12). Twelve patients in group H received 90 mg of Meglumine adenosine cyclophosphate before the starting of CBP, and the 12 patients in group C received 20 mL of saline. Continuous ECG was used to monitor arrhythmia. Blood dynamic indexes (HR, MAP, CVP) were monitored and the situations of heart beating were observed. RESULTS: ¢Ù The incidence of arrhythmia in group H was much lower than that in group C (P<0.05). ¢Ú Compared with those in group C, the blood dynamic indexes of group H after CBP were more stable. CONCLUSION: Infusing a bolus of Meglumine adenosine cyclophosphate by oxygenator before the starting of CBP can lower the incidence of arrhythmia in onª²pump beatingª²heart intracardiac procedures. ......
