Study on the validity of defense style questionnaire

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To explore the structure validity and criterion validity of defense style questionnaire (DSQ) . METHODS: 107 graduates¡¯ defense styles were measured with DSQ and their psychosomatic health status was measured with SAS and SDS. The structure validity was studied by factor analysis and the criterion validity was studied by correlation analysis. RESULTS: The three factors selected from the 24 defense styles didn't correspond to the three kinds of defense styles. The three defense style factors were to some degree correlated with each other and the immature defense style was significantly correlated with the mental health status. CONCLUSION: The structure validity of the Defense Style Questionnaire was not satifactory, but DSQ is valid to measure immature defense style. Two kinds of modified alternatives of the Defense Style Questionnaire are also presented. ......
