Abstract
AIM: To investigate the mechanism of Anweitang in the improvement of gastric ulcer healing quality.
METHODS: Forty Wistar rats were randomly and averagely divided into group A, B, C and D. Acetic acid was used to establish the model of gastric ulcer in the rats of group B, C and D. The rats in group A and B were treated (ig) with normal saline while those in group C and D were treated (ig) with Anweitang and Ranitidine, respectively. Radioimmunoassay was used to determine the expression of serum epidermal growth factor (EGF), and immunohistochemistry was applied to detect the expression of EGF, EGF receptor, and transforming growth factor-b1(TGF-b1)in the gastric mucosa.
RESULTS: In comparison with that in the group B, the expression of serum EGF was evidently enhanced in group C and D (1.12 ± 0.24, 0.99 ± 0.15 mg/Lvs 0.52 ± 0.13 mg/L,P < 0.01), and serum EGF expression was also significantly different between group C and D (P < 0 ......
