     Expression of cyclooxygenase2 in the brains of normal adult rats

    【Abstract】 AIM: To observe the expression of cyclooxygenase2 (COX2) in the brains of normal adult rats. METHODS: The immunohistochemical ABC method and the COX2 polyclonal antibody which was produced by ourselves were used to observe the expression of COX2 protein in the brains of normal adult rats. RESULTS: There was plentiful COX2 protein in the cortex, the hippocampus, the dentate gyrus, the supraoptic nucleus, the amygdaloid nucleus, cerebellum and brain stem, and so on. The COX2 immunopositive cells were mainly neurons, and a few were glial cells. CONCLUSION: COX2 protein is distributed widely in the brain. ......
