【Abstract】 AIM: To examine the localization of neuronal specific transcription factor LMO3 mRNA in the development of central nervous system (CNS) of the mice. METHODS: Realtime fluorescence quantitative RTPCR(FQ RTPCR) and in situ hybridization histochemical staining method with digoxinlabeled cRNA probe were used to detect the expression of LMO3 mRNA. RESULTS: The FQ RTPCR showed that the expression of LMO3 mRNA was the highest during pregnancy, then it decreased significantly after birth and almost remained the same level until adult. LMO3 mRNA expression was extensive in brain at early embryonic stages (E10.511.5 d), but not detected at other parts of embryo. The high level in brain was still seen over mid(E15.5d) and late (E17.5P0 d) embryonic brain and showed less different signal. During postnatal development, LMO3 mRNA was found gradually regionalized and showed the difference of signal in different parts of brain. LMO3 mRNA expression of P14P60 d was still extensive although the extent was gradually more regional than that of P7d. The signal of LMO3 mRNA was mainly located in different nucleus clony and showed different intensity. CONCLUSION: LMO3 plays a role in brain development during embryonic period and postnatal differentiation and specification of specific brain regions. ......
