Abstract
AIM: To investigate the protective effects of Chinese medicine Hugan recipe and medical ozone on acetaminophen-induced acute toxic hepatic failure in dogs.
METHODS: Eighteen mongrel dogs were averagely randomized into model control group, Chinese medicine (using Hugan recipe) pretreatment group and medical ozone pretreatment group. All the dogs were subcutaneously injected with acetaminophen to establish the models of acute toxic hepatic failure 15 days after pretreatment. Blood samples were collected for the detection of liver function, prothrombin time (PT), and the levels of ammonia and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) before and 24, 48, 72, 96 hours, 7, and 14 days after injection ......
