Abstract OBJECTIVE To investigate the status of nursing human resources in military hospitals.METHODS Questionnaires by mail and field survey，two approaches,were applied to 22 regimental military hospitals.RESULTS The actual bed-to-nurse ratio(aBNR)was 1∶0.36,much higher than the authorized value(1∶0.87).The nurses in the military service and contract nurses approximately accounted for 43% and 57%.Nurses in the military hospitals graduated from secondary vocational schools,with secondary degrees,with bachelor’s or higher degrees accounted for 20%,78%,and 2% respectively.CONCLUSION There is a shortage of nursing human resources in military hospitals,which makes it inevitable and necessary to enhance the continuing training of the contract nurses in military medicine. ......
