Relationship between graduates¬ð personality and military occupational choice

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To explore the difference and the similarity among graduates who choose military occupations or not. METHODS: 15FQ+ personality questionnaire of chinese edition and selfª²designed ¡°Psychological Questionnaire on Military Occupation¡± were conducted in l000 graduates from 4 common nonmilitary universities. The tª²text was used to analyze the difference between the 2 groups (choosing military occupation or not) in their personality, and then the logistic regression analysis to investigate the personality factors that influenced the university students in their choice of military occupation. RESULTS: There were significant differences between the military occupational graduates and nonª²military occupational graduates in sensitivity, vigilance, apprehension, selfª²reliance and perfectionism (P<0.05). The vigilance and the apprehension were significant to the dependent factors (P<0.05) in the logistic regression equation. CONCLUSION: Personality is an important factor but not a main factor influencing the choice of military occupation in graduates. ......
