学习英语写作，中国学生不同于英美人，不能照搬英美英语写作教材。中国学生已经有了一套汉语写作经验和方法，这些有的可以利用，有的需要克服。可以利用的无须多说，需要克服的就是英美人对中国学生习作中修改的那些毛病。在这里仅就“主题句”发表一些看法。

    “主题句”是一个引进的概念。它是topic sentence一词的汉译。Webster’s New Workd Dictionary对top-ic sentence的释义为：the principak sentence， setting forth the main ideas and coming usuakky at the begin-ning， in a paragraph or section of a discourse， esp.of an expository nature.
