     Reseach of Dentin Bond Strength of Single Bond Universal

    ObjectiveTo evaluate the bond strength of Single Bond Universal to human dentin.MethodsA group(Single Bond Universal)and other two groups of dentin conditioners, B group(S3 bond) and C group(Hybrid Coat, HyC) were selected and applied to human dentin .The microtensile bond strength of each specimen was measured and analyzed with independentsamples t test(α=0.05) respectively. Specimens were also evaluated for mode of fracture using scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis.ResultsThe mean microtensile bond strengths of A and B groups were not statistically different from one another at 23.371 and 25.448 MPa, respectively . The bond strength for C group specimens, at 17.314 MPa, was statistically different (P<0.05) from A group.Microscopic evaluation of failure modes indicated that most failures of three groups were interfacial, SEM analysis indicated that exposed dentin tubules were seen in A and B groups, and a very small amount of dentin tubules were found in group C.ConclusionThe bond strength of Single Bond Universal is enough in direct restoration. When using as resin coating material, the bond strength of Single Bond Universal is higher than Hybrid Coat. ......
