    [Abstract] ObjectiveTo study the correlation between serum level of vascularendothelial growth factor (VEGF) and severity of coronary artery stenosis.MethodsThis study included 114 patients with coronary haert disease (CHD group) and92 hearthy people (control group). The serum VEGF level was measured by ABC_ELI SA in all cases and was compared with the severity of coronary artery stenosi s. Results The level of VEGF in CHD group was significantly higher than that i n control group (141.17±19.94pg/ml Vs 17.73±6.45pg/ml, P<0.01). The s erumVEGF level in 2 or 3 coronary branches lesions subgroups was 129.52±19.87 pg/mland 158.25±26.77pg/ml, respectively, which were significantly higher thanthat in single branch lesion subgroup (100.79±17.81pg/ml, P<0.01).ConclusionsThe serum VEGF level could reflect the severity ofcoronary artery stenosis. ......
