    [Abstract] ObjectiveTo explore the defects and the accuracy of blood pressuremeasurement during farmers' routine physical examination.MethodsThe farmers' r outine physical examination of Lishui City was investigated by using a random st ratified cluster sampling, the sphygmomanometry and the environmental factors ofblood pressure measurement was evaluated. The accuracy of blood pressure readin gs was assessed by using dual_head stethoscope. The data of all respondents (n =2081) were rechecked with mercury sphygmomanometer.Results There were many err ors in blood pressure measurement, such as unsuitable environment, inadequate re st before measurement, incorrect cuff and stethoscope placement, deflated too qu ickly and so on. The readings of rural community physician were slightly higherthan those of the on_site review of the measurement[SBP(125.28 ± 23.41)mmHgVS(124.62±22.39)mmHg,P<0.05; DBP(77.61±12.51)mmHg VS (77.24±11.22 )mmHg,P<0.05]. The prevalence of hypertension was detected in 35.7% by ru ral community doctors, and re_measurement of the detection of hypertension preva lence was 30.75%. There was no difference in reading between rural community phy sicians and scene assessors when the double_headed stethoscope was used(P>0. 05).The readings of 514 cases measured by electrosphygmomanometer were signific antly higher than those measured by mercury sphygmomanometer[SBP(133.21±21.62 )mmHg VS(126.78±21.09)mmHg,P<0.001; DBP(82.84±12.41)mmHg VS(80.15± 11.59)mmHg,P<0.001].ConclusionsA variety of issues in methods of current fa rmers healthy blood pressure measurement will surely affect the accuracy of meas urement, attention should be paid to the training of related team. ......
