Abstract Objective Through comparative analysis,to explore of clinical characteristics of patients with sudden hearing loss complicated with metabolic syndrome and its clinical treatment effect. Methods A total of 62 cases of sudden hearing loss patients with metabolic syndrome admitted to our department from January 2014 to December 2019 as a case group, 64 cases of sudden deafness without metabolic syndrome as control group. We collected the patient’s general information, types of hearing curve and curative effect of two groups. Chi-square test was used to compare the types of hearing curve and curative effect between the two groups. Results The types of hearing curve in both groups were mainly flat type and total deafness, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05),the prognosis of patients with sudden hearing loss combined with metabolic syndrome were less than those without sudden metabolic syndrome (P<0.05). Conclusion The types of hearing curve of patients with metabolic syndrome were mainly and the prognosis is worse than the patients without metabolic syndrome. The types of hearing curve in patients with sudden hearing loss with metabolic syndrome are similar to those with sudden hearing loss without metabolic syndrome. They are mainly flat type and total deafness, but the treatment effect is worse than those with sudden hearing loss without metabolic syndrome.
