虽然对miRNA的研究已取得了很大的进展，但仍存在许多难点有待进一步探讨。如：已发现和未发现的miRNAs的确切功能和作用机制尚不清楚。同时目前尚缺乏一种对miRNAs的进一步筛选、发现和研究还缺乏有效的工具。但相信随着科学技术的进步，随着我们对miRNAs的进一步了解，将开阔我们对肿瘤及其他疾病的认识。
