Abstract
The paradigm of task switching was used to investigate the ability of shifting attention across adolescence. The participants were 108 primary school and middle school students. The present study examined the effects of the response-cue interval(200ms or 2000ms)and the cue-target interval(200ms or 2000ms). The results suggest that the development of the ability maintaining and selecting among different potential response set throughout adolescence, and the development of the ability switching from one response set to another. And the results demonstrated the task set inertia theory as an account for general switch costs.
