[Abstract] Objective To investigate the effect of dyclonine hydrochloride mucllage in catheterization before induction of anesthesia on the reduction of agitation during the recovery period in patients. Methods A total of 60 male patients undergoing surgery under general anesthesia were randomly divided into post-induction group (n=30) and pre-induction group (n=30). The patients in the post-induction group were treated with dyclonine hydrochloride mucllage in catheterization after induction of general anesthesia. While the patients in the pre-induction group received dyclonine hydrochloride mucllage in the awakening state before induction of general anesthesia and then underwent catheterization. The changes of hemodynamic parameters in the process of catheterization were observed and the incidence of agitation in anesthesia recovery period was recorded. The patients were followed up after surgery and the satisfaction score was recorded. Results The baseline was comparable between the two groups(P>0.05). There were no significant differences in SBP, DBP and HR between the two groups before and when the catheter was placed(P>0.05). The values of SBP, DBP and HR in the pre-induction group were significantly lower than those in the post-induction group at 1 minute and 5 minutes after catheterization, and there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05). The incidence of agitation during the recovery period of anesthesia in the pre-induction group was significantly lower than that in the post-induction group(P<0.01). There was no significant difference in satisfaction score between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05). Conclusion In patients with general anesthesia, the use of dyclonine hydrochloride mucllage in catheterization before induction is safe and effective, and can reduce the incidence of agitation in patients with recovery period.
